FAQ's or Frequently Asked Questions

For basic blogger questions, please visit bloggers help center.

Q: How do I get on the design list
A: Fill out the questionnaire and email it to GeneseeBakerDesigns@gmail.com AND make a deposit via the pay pal link in the side bar.

Q: Why would I want a custom blog design?
A: First impression are made with in the first 30 seconds of a person visiting your site. Having a custom blog designs sets you apart from everyone else.

Q: How does the design process work?
A: After receiving both your deposit and questionnaire, you'll be placed on the design list. I will contact you to let you know when I start working on your design, plus you can always check out the design list to see where you're at too. I like to design the header first. I think it's easier this way because the header is what everyone sees first. If you don't like the colors or designs going on in the header, chances are you won't like the rest of the design either. After you have approved the header, I will finish the rest of the design and send you a link to view what your new blog will look like. The once I get your final approval on the entire design and your payment, the blog will be installed.

Q: If I'm on the design list, how long do I have to wait?
A: Please keep in mind that I am a busy mother of two under two. I have no set work schedule. I work during their nap times and any spare time I may have during the day. I also don't get a chance to do much on weekends other then check emails everyone once in a while. My family is my life and will always come first. That being said, I will work as quickly as possible. You can help make the process go faster by checking your email often once I do start designs. I will often have questions for you, and of course will want your approval before continuing on with different elements of the design.

Q: Where do the backgrounds, images, fonts come from?
A: Digital/Scrapbooking Kits, IStock and other various sources. Right now I have a commercial license for Sumertime Designs and Two Bucks, That's All. If you want to use a different kit please let me know in the questionnaire so that I can make sure I can obtain a commercial license in order to use that kit. Also it's important to know that I can NOT use kits/images that you have purchased and downloaded on your computer without written consent from the designer. To be on the safe side, do NOT purchase anything you want for your design, I will purchase it and add the price of the kit/image to your total.

Q: Do you use the kits or images that I purchased on other blogs for free?
A: Absolutely not! Not only wouldn't this be fair to you, but the designer deserved to be paid for each image or kit from each person that uses them.

Q: Do I own the rights to my logo and design?
A: No. I own the logo and the coding that goes into the design. I do however, let you use it for social networking sites and the "button" that is created is meant to be shared with others. If you are interested in purchasing your logo to use for business cards, letter head, or any other instance, please email me at GeneseeBakerDesigns@gmail.com and the fee will be discussed on a case by case basis.

Q: Why do you need my login information for blogger and photobucket?
A: Your log in info is used during the installation process. Without it, I can no install the design. Photobucket is used to host the images. You must have a photobucket account, and you must login at least once every 90 days. to keep the account active. I am not responsible for lost, moved or deleted images. If you are worried about giving out your passwords, please select a temporary password to use.

Q: Will my widgets/side bar items transfer over to my new blog designs?
A: In most cases yes, everything should still be there, however they may be in a different order. I do recommend backing them up to be on the safe side as there is a first time for everything. I am NOT responsible for any and all lost widgets.

Q: What is a header, background, button etc?
A:
Header: This sits at the top of your blog and is the very first thing people see. This is what people will judge the rest of your blog on. It can be worded any way you'd like. It can contain images, pictures, different styles of text etc. The header usually sets the tone of the rest of the page.

Background: This is the area BEHIND your post section and side bars.

Button: This is a 150x150 image and coding that readers can use to place on their pages. They link back to your blog when clicked.

Signature: This comes at the end of each and every post and is normally your name but can say whatever you'd like. It can also contain an image.
